Electric Fashion Photo Shoot!

I left NY, but the fashion passion will live on always! Now i am getting to business with my designing and going to start another women's wear collection soon.

Check out my summer color blocked dress inspired by fire and water with the color blocking trend mixed with striped print and zipper detail.
Also a fall jacket and 2 vests inspired by the renaissance idea of slashing to reveal the underlayer and parti look inside the jacket/ facing with zipper and eyelet detail. More to come soon :)

Finally Donating Clothes

My closet is packed with clothes. Half of these clothes are either too small or things I no longer wear, so I am finally donating them so someone else can enjoy wearing them. Loading up bags as I listen to music to jump start my day. This should be fun..caring a hand  full of bags around the city. I have held on to these clothes for so long because I thought I would cut them apart and make something new, but the jam packed closet is driving me crazy and I must simplify. A few items I must keep are my old jeans so I can use the denim to re-create and some tops with prints I like. Everything else.... bye bye :)

Inspiration

So..today I am going to be super chill. Well... I am usually chill, but anyways, I am going to hop the L train to Williamsburg and sit in a cafe and sketch and write songs. Feeling inspired lately and got to get my thought and ideas out. I wish my camera was working so I could take photos of street art and such, but oh well. I am starting my Edgy Dress project, designing and sewing dresses for girls who have an edge! Some pieces are going to be wearable art, so a bit more dramatic and unique. I will be posting process photos soon :)

Layers are my best friend

It is getting chilly out there. Time to wear more layers and drink some hot tea. One of my favorite things to wear in the Winter is my fleece pjs, because they are feet pjs like little kids wear, and they are grey with a blue and green bear print. In the winter I am more about function than fashion, but no matter how many layers you throw on, sometimes you are still freezing your legs off! I may just have to purchase a down coat this Winter from Brooklyn Industries with my employee discount. And I really don't like sweaters, especially ones that are really itchy, but I may give in and get a few of those too. Oh man.... not looking forward to Winter too much, but on the other hand, I am going to be more productive with my designing/sewing since I won't feel like going out in the freezing cold. I think today shall be a fabric shopping day! Time to get rolling on that Halloween costume!

Halloween? what to be?

Halloween is coming up soon and unlike last year, I would like to plan in advance so I can sew my costume. So, anyone have an awesome idea for my halloween costume? I must decide soon so I have time to sew it! So far I have come up with a few ideas listed below Please either help me decide on one my ideas, or  let me know if you have any awesome ideas. Thank you!

1) Gothic Mummy- White tattered dress with black accents and dark eye make-up and red lips
2) Oragami- 3 D dress of random shapes
3) Flower Garden- Super colorful dress made out of flowers that I create with fabric
4) Fun Fetti- lots of colors, prints, confetti like dress with random party objects sewn to the dress
5) 80's Zombie
6) Rock n roll angel- shreads of white fabric sewn together to create a pretty but edgy dress, with rocker elements added, such as studs and funky hair and make-up
7) News paper- Try to snatch a few stacks of AM's without anyone noticing and make a piece of wearable
art out of the news.

My dress form has been naked for a long time

Time I start sewing! My dress form Ms. PGM has been naked far too long, and she is ready to rock some awesome style! I am going to be tearing through all of my old fabric, clothes, trims, and hope to be sewing in a few more weeks! My idea is to design a dress for this awesome girl Alynn who is a singer/song writer with much talent. I hope to take her measurements soon and show her some of my design ideas and create something that
suits her personal style. :)
